Monthly Meeting:The Washington Bee Atlas
The Washington Bee Atlas is a participatory science program that trains volunteers to survey native bee populations across the state. By recording bees’ floral associations, the program hopes to better characterize the biological requirements of the 600+ species of bees known to occur in Washington. Within their first three years, the program has already made exciting discoveries, including several new state and county records of rare bees. Hear from Caleb Lankford about the wide range of diversity present in our native bee species, how volunteers collect their data, and how you can support native bee populations!
