Unformed poems from our travel through Indonesia
By Bill Barlow
Shiny wire hair knotted up glows in the moonlight snarled below the transformer.
Pedicabs have been replaced with retrofit recycled motors where feet of the bay check drivers once generated human power.
Unable to harness lightning expanded gender psyche toys with alternatives energy solutions that shy away from carbon emissions that are choking the planet.
We call on you, oh Goddess of Power and your sister Mother Earth – enlighten us to a multitude of power possibilities and smite those who would trample challenging opportunities for their own personal gain.
Photos: Pedicabs/becak converted with Honda engine, moon shining on wires knotted up below the power transformer, drawing of graffiti on a shop wall calling to Save the Planet (in English), beer can decorated bicycle.
