Artists, urban sketchers, and nature journalers, you are invited to the McNary NWR Environmental Education Center for a day of painting and drawing outside.
Opportunities for painting include viewing areas from the ample observation deck next to the EE Center, trails leading to the Pollinator Garden, and the large airy enclosed bird blind next to the water. For the more adventurous, the beautiful Quail Trail pathway hosts many benches and viewing areas. This delightful trail leads around big ponds, past fields and marshlands, over a small bridge, past sagebrush filled slopes, more ponds, and finally a bench in a grove of trees. Total distance out and back is 3 miles.

This event is intended to support all kinds of artists and nature journalers to take advantage of the inspiration of our outdoor space.
We will not be providing or teaching art activities, but visitors might have the opportunity to observe artists in action.

Bring your lunch and join with other artists on the observation deck.
The EE Center will be open for you to see some great displays highlighting the area. Bathrooms are located inside the EE Center.

This is a event free and open to all!
