Join Impact Poet Ms. JuruDaWise (Janiece Spence) for an interactive poetry workshop as part of the REACH Museum’s annual Earth Day Celebration.
This workshop is one of many educational activities available throughout the event, which also features environmental booths from local businesses, live music, and family-friendly activities.
Workshop Flow:
1:00 – 1:15 PM | Welcome & Introduction
Meet your facilitator and learn about the poetry journey
1:15 – 2:00 PM | Indoor Workshop Activities
Engage with creative writing prompts focused on environmental connections
2:00 – 2:30 PM | Indoor Mini Open Mic
Share your initial creations in our supportive indoor space
2:30 – 3:15 PM | Guided Museum Tour with Poetry Stations
Explore select exhibits through a creative lens
3:15 – 3:30 PM | Outdoor Element Stations
Interact with earth, water, air, and sun through guided poetry activities
3:30 – 4:00 PM | Community Stage Open Mic (Weather Permitting)
Join other Earth Day participants on the main outdoor stage to share your environmental poetry
What to bring:
~ Your favorite notebook and pen (extras will be available)
~ A willingness to explore and create
~ Weather-appropriate clothing for outdoor activities
Participants are welcome to join for any portion of the workshop – come for the full experience or drop in for the activities that interest you most!
