The Justice Fun Run Series is excited to host the Annual Badger Mountain South Turkey Trot on November 23 at 10:00 A.M. at Celebration Park in Richland off of Dallas Road. Fluff those feathers, eat those carbs, and wear your Turkey spirit swag gear as we take part in the deep rooted tradition in the United States. Getting out of bed, piling on extra layers for warmth, and meeting up with family and friends for a little morning activity on Thanksgiving Day. This 125 year tradition is more about the family – friendly atmosphere than the competition of most typical races. This year we have the 5K route for runners or the 1 Mile Turkey Leg Dash for those participants who have kids, strollers and/or pets.
Regardless of your age or running ability, come on out and support The Justice Fun Run Series as we promote health and wellness in the community through family, fun, fitness.
As always – our events are designed to highlight a cause and this year’s Turkey Trot will focus on combating the food insecurities some families face in our community. Our goal for this event is to raise over 200 pounds of canned foods to help support Lutheran Community Services NorthWest.
For those community members who can’t make the event, but would like to contribute towards helping us reach our goal, the President and V.P. of The Justice Fun Run Series will be collecting canned foods in the Badger Mountain South Community between November 13-18. Please message us directly for a date that works best for you. Place those items in a bag/box on your driveway and we will gladly pick them up at the date of your request and together we can all achieve surpassing our goal.
We hope to see you out there in what is predicted to be a sunny, warm, beautiful mid-morning day. Who am I kidding, rain, snow or slush we turkey’s will gobble and wobble together!
